Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about video checks, uploads and privacy.

How does CaptionQA work?

Upload a video with on-screen captions, or add an SRT/VTT file and an optional script. AI transcribes speech, reads captions and flags possible differences in a report with video timestamps. Review findings against the original video.

What video formats are supported?

MP4 and MOV are supported. File size, duration and monthly analysis limits depend on your plan and are shown on the pricing and billing pages.

What subtitle and script formats can I attach?

You can attach SubRip (.srt) subtitle files, WebVTT (.vtt) files, or upload a plain text (.txt) script or paste your script directly into the web interface.

How is user video privacy handled?

Videos are stored exclusively in private S3-compatible buckets. No public access is allowed; playback and downloads use cryptographically signed short-lived URLs. Audio is processed strictly when you initiate an analysis.

How does AI analysis work?

CaptionQA uses OpenAI API to transcribe speech, read video captions and review possible differences. AI can miss problems or flag correct text, so the final review remains yours.

What languages are supported?

The interface supports English, Ukrainian, German, Spanish and French. AI analysis can process speech in multiple languages; accuracy depends on the language, audio quality and caption readability.

Can I start for free?

Yes. Free includes a limited monthly allowance. Paid plans offer higher limits; the applicable price and billing terms are shown at checkout.
